Mainframe Industries stole the spotlight at the PC Gaming Show this weekend with their highly anticipated MMO, Pax Dei. The ambitious UE5 MMO was first teased back in 2021 but was only officially unveiled at the start of March. It promises an expansive sandbox world set in a medieval backdrop, in-depth PvP mechanics, player housing, and player-run villages.

Unlike other fledgling studios, Mainframe Industries is being backed by several big investors and already have more than enough resources to see the project to completion, and maybe even beyond.

During PC Gamer’s annual showcase this past weekend, the studio dropped a new gameplay trailer for the Pax Dei along with an exclusive interview where they talked about the dynamics of player-governance. The system was likely inspired by the player-run corporations of EVE Online, seeing as the studio’s lead developers had previously worked on the game.

We’ve got that video tucked down below, but stay tuned because Mainframe is apparently dropping even more information tomorrow, including new screenshots, gameplay footage, and a comprehensive FAQ.
