Pearl Abyss Q4 2020 Earnings Report Shows Revenue And Profit Drop
The Pearl Abyss Q4 2020 earnings report is now out showing a drop in profits and revenue both for the last fiscal quarter and 2020 as a whole. According to the report, the company saw a dip in operating revenue from ₩536B to ₩489B (roughly US$439M) year-over year.
Earnings for the fourth quarter on the other hand, shows a 10% drop in revenue and a whopping 50% drop in profit compared to the third quarter of 2020.
The report also reveals decreased revenue for both Black Desert Online and EVE Online during the past quarter with nearly 82% of total sales coming from the latter. Revenues also rose by 2% in Asia as PC revenues continue its upward trend over the past three quarters with a 3% increase quarter-over-quarter. Console revenues, however, are down by 4%.
As for Pearl Abyss’ plans for the future, the South Korean video game company is looking to continue their global expansion, increase marketing for Crimson Desert, and continue development of new IPs including DokeV and Plan 8. The company says that they will be focusing on self-publish Black Desert Online and revealed also revealed their plans to launch EVE Echoes in China and work on more localization options for EVE Online.
