After being delayed for three years, the new Oshur continent is finally live in PlanetSide 2 as part of the Expedition: Oshur update. Players from all three playable factions can now fight over new tropical-themed points-of-interest, outposts, and bases to secure sectors and dominate the entire map.

“Oshur was designed with an emphasis on logistics and diversity of gameplay. The towering Trident Relays necessitate air support and quick responses, the lattice has deliberate and strategic cutoffs for squad and platoon leaders to pursue, the beachheads and mid-field bases carve a meaningful role for construction; the open savannahs, sandy beaches, and tropical jungles foster vehicle battles and heavy armor usage; and the hand-crafted designer-driven bases create unique and learnable gameplay spaces for hardened infantry veterans. With this new island battleground, there is something to enjoy no matter your style of gameplay.”

Aside from opening up a brand-new battlefield, the Expedition: Oshur update also introduces underwater mechanics, underwater weapons, and Chapter 2 of the Distant Shores campaign. The update also comes with a long list of balance tweaks and quality-of-life improvements such as decreased friendly fire damage, a shorter friendly fire grief counter, new construction options, and infantry balancing.

The full update notes can be found on the Daybreak Games official forums.
