A gentle reminder to everyone that COVID-19 is still around and precautions should still be taken even though things seem to be going back to normal.

Pandemonium Books & Games, one of the vendors during last week’s PAX East 2022 in-person event, reported on their COVID Tracker page that at least three of their employees who manned their booth at the event tested positive for the virus.

The said employees where there from 10:00am-5:30pm on Tuesday, April 19th and Wednesday, April 20th, and from 9:30am-3:30pm on Thursday, April 21st. Attendees who may have been exposed are being referred to the CDC for possible isolation.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first case that the COVID-19 virus spread during video game-related in-person event. Several attendees also tested positive during GDC 2022 despite precautions taken by the organizers and their adherence to health and safety rules set by the government.

Meanwhile, CCP Games is moving forward with their plans to hold an EVE Fanfest physical event in Reykjavik, Iceland in May, the first fanfest to be held in person since the start of the pandemic. Hopefully, that doesn’t turn out to be another super-spreader event.
