PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Is Close To Reaching 2M Concurrent Players

playerunknown's battlegrounds door firePlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is continuing its unprecedented rise to the top of the Battle Royale genre, and conversely, the top of the Steam rankings. Steam reports that PUBG reached nearly 2 million concurrent players over the weekend, just a month after breaking the 1M mark last September.

According to GamesIndustry.biz, the survival shooter's closest competitor is Valve’s Dota 2. Fortnite is also hot on PUBG’s heels, recording a 520k concurrent player peak over the weekend.

PUBG has sold over 13 million copies to date. An impressive number considering that the game is still in Early Access. Bluehole Studios also revealed plans to release the game on Xbox One, and possibly PlayStation 4 so expect the numbers to rocket even more. Check out the official Xbox One trailer after the break.
