PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has apparently been renamed to PUBG: Battlegrounds and will be going free-to-play for a limited time from August 10-16. There’s speculation that the free week is a test run to gather feedback on how the community will reach should the popular battle royale shooter ditch it’s $29.99 price tag.

“They’ve been trying to go F2P for a while now,” tweeted known leaker PlayerIGN. “PUBG originally wanted to go F2P in 2019; but didn’t get the player response they wanted from 2019’s F2P test.”

Meanwhile, Krafton will be kicking off a Blackpink collaboration event tomorrow featuring themed costumes, hair types, weapons, emotes, and Blackpink helmet. Supply crates will also be marked with pink smoke and airplanes will have a Blackpink banner for the duration of the event.

Event details can be found on the PUBG: Battlegrounds Steam Page. Blackpink in your area!
