Atlant Games reports that its upcoming medieval fantasy MMORPG Reign of Guilds is now in the final stretch of its pre-Early Access development.

“In Reign of Guilds, one doesn't need to survive, build cabins, or cultivate cabbage. Here, nobody values blisters from a pickaxe or a shovel, but what considered as value are interaction skills with other players, be it either combat or diplomacy, trade or craft.”

The Russian studio also announced its plans to host an open playtest in mid-December to give the community another chance to try out the game while also allowing them to gather much-needed feedback in preparation for its Early Access launch.

It’s worth noting that testing hasn’t gone smoothly for the in-development title. Previous tests were rife with issues including missing loot, lost items, and problems with transitioning between different zones, in addition to major regional server outages that prevented many testers from actually testing the game.

The issues, however, seem to have already been fixed and more updates are in the pipeline to improve character progression and enhance the interface to give players more information on their character’s status at a glance. The team will also be adjusting death penalties to include PvE deaths and be more forgiving for players with neutral and good karma and harsher for those with bad karma.

Expect the above-mentioned changes and improvements to be included in the mid-December open playtest. The game itself is set to launch into Early Access in Q1 2024.
