Roblox Corp. has reportedly suffered a massive data breach that saw the personal details of roughly 4,000 developers leaked on a hacker forum. These details include the names, dates of birth, addresses, and even IP addresses of all Roblox Developer Conference attendees from 2017 to 2020.

According to PC Gamer, the leaked information has been circulating around the internet for years now and was first appeared on data breach search engine Have I Been Pwned back in 2021. The data, however, recently resurfaced again in an undisclosed hacker forum, although the post has since been taken down but not before hackers and scammers got hold of the information.

High-profile users have reported receiving malicious emails, texts, and calls, while some have also been the target of social engineering schemes. In response, Roblox Corp. has provided compensation to affected employees by giving them a year of free identity protection. They also sent apology emails to those who were minimally affected by the breach.

Obviously, there’s no way of getting the data back, particularly since it’s been out in the wild for years now, but the consensus in the gaming community is that Roblox Corp. could probably have done more to address its present and potential effects.
