Rocket League To Add Rumble Mode Mayhem This September

Rocket League is one of my favorite games for many reasons: a ridiculous premise, free content updates, and an attitude that doesn't take itself too seriously. This September, Rocket League will be adding Rumble Mode as part of a free content update. It looks fantastic.

Instead of just slamming matchbox cars against a sci-fi soccer ball, players will also collect randomized power-ups, such as  a spring-loaded boot, tornadoes, and a teleportation swap. There are 11 power-ups in all:

The Boot (Kicks an opponent’s car)
Disruptor (Forces your opponent to drive uncontrollably)
Freezer (Freezes the ball in-place)
Grappling Hook (Pulls you towards the ball)
Haymaker (Punches the ball)
Magnetizer (Attracts the ball to your car)
Plunger (Grabs the ball via plunger and cord)
Power Hitter (Allows you to hit everything harder)
Spike (Attach the ball to your car when you bump into it)
Swapper (Change positions on the field with your opponent)
Tornado (Sweep up the ball and opposing cars into a giant funnel cloud)

It's great to see Psyonix reinvest their game again, adding new elements to draw back players and add diversity to Rocket League's game modes. I did not expect the next update to include Mario Kart-esque abilities, and I'm looking forward to thwarting opponents while scoring a goal in style.
