RuneScape Open Weekend Starts June 9th
Ever tried RuneScape but felt limited by the game's F2P restrictions? Today's your lucky day! To celebrate the launch of the venerable fantasy MMORPG's first expansion, Menaphos, Jagex is offering all players free Premium Member status over the weekend.
Starting on June 9th and running until the 12th, all players will have the opportunity to opt-in and explore the new city of Menaphos on an equal footing with paying members.
Membership usually costs about $10 a month* and gives players several benefits:
- Over 160 extra quests
- Access to 11 extra skills
- Exclusive minigames
- Private Housing
- 3x larger area to exploration
*Wiley players who are adapt at earning in-game gold can purchase bonds that grant 14-day membership status from their less crafty peers.
This is perhaps the best time for both new and retired players to get back into RuneScape. The Menaphos expansion just launched on June 5th and a new client offers rather impressive 3D visuals. Of course the old school server with the classic rule set (and client) is also still available.
