Runescape Introduces Safecracking With The Latest Patch

runescape safecrackingNo safe is… erm.. safe with the release of the latest Runescape update. The update introduces safecracking along with tools that you can use to make The Thieves Guild of Gielinor proud.

“Safecracking is a new training method, unlocked after completing the Buyers and Cellars quest and related capers. From the safes you’ll get Thieving XP, cold hard cash and reward points. These points can be spent on gubbins like a consumable reward that protects you from being stunned, as well as an item that allows you to instantly remove all suspicion from one elf clan.”

Of course, cracking safes requires the right set of tools, which is why master lockpicks and master stethoscopes have also been added with the update. Both items are unbreakable and can be purchased with reward points.

Safecracking is a training method which can be considered as part of the Thieving tree. A total of 49 safes have been placed all around Gielinor so bring the crew together to find them all.

The update also comes with fixes and tweaks to the UI, Clan Settings interface, Dungeoneering token bags, and teleporting. You can find the full patch notes here.

Jagex also has a plant theme going on for RuneScape in May. Lead Designer David Osborne and Design Director Mark Ogilvie talk about it after the jump.
