Sea of Thieves players looking to make the switch to the PlayStation 5 later this month will be happy to know that they can pick up exactly where they left off, whether they’ve been playing on PC or Xbox, or both.

Rare just dropped an FAQ packed with pertinent information on the game’s upcoming PS5 launch which starts off by confirming that the PS5 version will offer both cross-progression and cross-platform play, although its worth mentioning that you’ll need a PlayStation Plus subscription to access multiplayer features. You’ll also have the option to play solely with players on the same platform that you’re on if you’re worried about one platform having an advantage over another.

For non-subscribers, the Safer Seas game mode will be available for solo play but you’ll still need a working internet connection.

Sea of Thieves will officially be launching on PlayStation 5 on April 30, with a pre-order closed beta planned for April 12 to April 15. All progress from the beta test will carry over to full launch. In the meantime, you can learn more about the rest of the features that will be available on the PS5 in the video below.
