“Ready to meet plenty more pirates on the seas? New crews will soon arrive seeking fortune and adventure as Sea of Thieves opens up to PlayStation 5 owners,” developer Rare announced. “[…] This will bring countless fresh faces to our pirate playground and, thanks to cross play implementation, allow everyone on the seas to keep on sailing together now and well into the future.”

Sea of Thieves’ PS5 launch will mark Rare’s first PlayStation release in its 40-year history and will also coincide with the start of Season 12. The studio has yet to share information about the upcoming season, but promises to do so soon.

In the meantime, Season 11 is well underway, featuring a boatload of quality-of-life improvements such as the Quest Table feature that functions as both an on-ship quest hub and a fast-travel system.
