SMITE Reviews Chat Logs And Suspends Over 5,000 Accounts For Racism

smite chernobog bannerRacism has no place in a progressive society, and it has no place in games either. With the recent calls for racial equality in the US following the murder of George Floyd, SMITE developer Hi-Rez Studios has become more vigilant when it comes to racial slurs and comments in the MOBA’s chat box. In a tweet posted over the weekend, the studio says that they’ve completed a full chat log review and have suspended over 5,000 accounts for racism.

Hi-Rez also said that they’ve implemented new tech that will make it easier for the team to detect and punish racist behavior in the game. “We still have work to do and are committed to ensuring SMITE is a hate-free environment,” tweeted the devs.
