Lineage 2 Aden, NCSoft’s more casual and solo-friendly version of the classic MMORPG, is now live and free-to-play on Windows PC. Aden features gameplay mechanics that make in-game life easier for players who prefer to play alone but still gives them the option to group up should they need help to take on more difficult encounters.

Lineage II Aden is live and ready for you to discover your next adventure! Take on challenging raids and sieges with your Clan or self-buff to give you the advantage you need to smite your foes on your own. Aden features a new PvE and PvP experience with brand-new content.”

Two new classes will also be making their first appearance in Aden: the Death Knight and the Sylph Storm Blaster, along with pets to keep players company on their solo adventures.

“Solo play does not mean adventuring throughout the realm alone. Summon your pet companion to assist in battle! Pets gain XP and get boosted benefits as they level up. They also take damage, just like you! [. . .] Keep them fed and protected to ensure a happy, healthy pal to fight by your side.”

To celebrate the new version’s launch, NCSoft will be running several in-game events through September, including a new daily login event, a Raid Master event, and the Why Burn event, a server-first that gives players a chance to grab an exclusive Wyvern mount and other rewards depending on their ranking and the milestones they’ve achieved during the event period.

Details can be found on the Lineage 2 Aden official site and the full launch notes here.
