Square Enix Teases Players With Ultimate Fight Video

Square Enix released a video yesterday that teases a Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn 2D fighter.  The video starts with character select, then moves on to show a full fight between the Scions Of The Seventh Dawn's Yda vs The Empire's Livia.  Its the complete package with special moves, voice overs, UI, beautiful 3D graphics and a hilarious ending... which would send any fan jumping from their chair, that is-- until they learn that its not actually real.

At the end of the video, Square Enix reveals that it's just a video and there are no plans to create it.   Perhaps maybe it will stir up enough hype to have Square Enix seriously considering it, leaving us to only wonder 'what if'.
