Star Citizen Previews Alpha 3.23’s Persistent Hangars And Their Useful New Features

Star Citizen is giving its interstellar pilots their own personal parking space with the addition of persistent hangars in Alpha 3.23. They’re basically instanced locations where players can dock their owned ships and hang out after a hard days’ work among the stars.

Persistent hangars will be available on a player’s home planet and can be accessed by getting landing clearance from the ATC. They can be personalized with various items and decorations and also comes equipped with a freight elevator for loading and unloading cargo which can either be done manually or with the help of the automatic loading and unloading feature for a fee.

Based on its design, the instanced hangars are likely aimed at cargo haulers and non-combat jobs more than anything else. Cloud Imperium Games, however, also pointed out the wide-reaching benefits of the new inventory system for everyone, regardless of how you make a living in the sci-fi sandbox world.

Alpha 3.23 is expected to arrive sometime in Q2 2024. In the meantime, you can learn more about the new persistent hangars in the video below.
