Starcraft 2 Goes Free to Play on November 14th

Blizzard Entertainment announced today at Blizzcon that Starcraft 2 will go free to play on November 14th, 2017. The new free to play version will include the entire Wings of Liberty story campaign, online ranked ladder play (with all current units/updates), and expanded access to co-op mode. Starcraft 2's arcade has been free to play for years now, but the November 14th update will make the game's online ladder free to play for everyone with content and balance changes up to the latest expansion, Legacy of the Void. Players who already own any version of Starcraft 2 prior to October 31st will receive a special Eidolon Ghost skin and 3 portraits for free.

Personally i'm quite hype for this. I played quite a bit of Starcraft 2 when it launched but didn't keep up with the expansions. I suspect Blizzard made the move to free to play to increase the game's playerbase so existing players can get faster queues for ranked play.
