Superdata Releases March 2017 Digital Games Market Report

Another month, another report from our favorite video game intelligence group. SuperData's Worldwide Digital Games Market overview for March 2017 was released on April 27th. The report lists the top 10 highest grossing games on PC, Console, and Mobile platforms. As always, SuperData only reports on digital revenues, so hardware and physical box sales are not captured.

Many of the usual suspects topped the list once again this month including League of Legends for PC and Clash Royale for Mobile. Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands was the best performing console game, and even its PC version managed to sneak into the top 10.

Overall, monthly worldwide digital revenues grew 7% to a new high of $8 billion. The growth rate varied considerably by platform: mobile saw the fastest growth rate at 13% year-over-year.

One particularly interesting observation is Overwatch falling below Counter Strike Global Offensive despite recently surpassing 30 million players. The PC Top 10 clearly shows the staying power of old franchises. The original Lineage, released back in 1998, is ahead of the only game on the list released so far in 2017.
