Crema Games hasn’t given up on its Temtem spinoff dreams just yet as it announces a “bullet heaven” co-op game set in the same universe, called Temtem Swarm.

The studio’s first attempt at a spinoff came in June 2023 when it launched Temtem Showdown, a PvP battler that allowed players to jump right into multiplayer Tem battles. As with most indie spinoffs, it was meant to help finance the original game’s development but unfortunately didn’t receive as much attention as its predecessor and was shut down just six months after it launched.

The studio is now taking another stab at a spinoff with Temtem Showdown which it touts as having been built from the ground up with three-player online co-op in mind in partnership with GGTech Entertainment.

“[…] This fast-paced, bullet-heaven experience combines the strategic elements of Temtem combat with the frenetic gameplay of classic survivor games,” the studio said. “Prepare to team up with friends in online co-op for up to three players and face relentless swarms of enemies, unlock powerful abilities and upgrades, find and collect Tems to evolve and become stronger, and battle massive bosses in this adrenaline-pumping adventure!”

Crema Games has yet to reveal a release timeline for Temtem Showdown but it did confirm that it will be available on PC, Steam, and Steam Deck with plans for a console launch at some point in the future. If at first you don’t succeed, right?
