New TERA Shore Hold Update Introduces New PvP Features On January 15

tera shore hold giant turtleLast week, En Masse Entertainment released The Valkyrie update for console versions of TERA. This week, the PC version is due for an update called Shore Hold which will introduce new PvP features to the fantasy MMORPG. On top of the list is the new Shore Hold battleground.

“This fast-paced, 7 v 7 battleground is designed to get you right into the action. Smaller team sizes means faster queues, and in no time you'll be racing up and down a sandy beach to capture pyres with action combat-sized control zones.

It also features shorter rez times, buff-generating manastones, and a cave dwelling monster to fight. Choose your strategy carefully—time you spend defeating a boss is time your enemies can use to capture pyres, and it's no fun at all to defend yourself from two kinds of threats at once!”

The update also brings with it three new PvP gear types: Disciplinary, Harmonic, and Impregnable. These new gear can be purchased using Bellicarium credits. “These new items do not accept crystals or grant set bonuses,” says the devs. “But even one piece can seriously up your game!”

Shore Hold also has a new PvE Training Ground in store for the less PvP-inclined players. The training grounds allows level 65 characters to take on BAMs and test out new combos, strategies, and gear in the privacy of their own solo instance. “The Training Ground supplies you with a DPS meter, virtual thralls, and a collection of buffs to simulate an active party.”

The Shore Hold update is scheduled to go live on January 15th after the scheduled maintenance period. You’ll find the full list of changes in the full patch notes. You can also check out the TERA official site for more info.
