It looks like TERA didn’t quite capture the hearts of Japanese players as it did the rest of the world and will officially be shutting down just three and a half years since it first arrived in the region. Japanese publisher Pmang announced the closure on Twitter with the sunset date set for April 20, 2022.

“Thank you for using TERA on a regular basis. The service will be terminated on April 20, 2022 (Wednesday) at 8:30,” tweeted Pmang (translated via Google). “We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your support.”

Players on this side of the world needn’t be concerned as the North American, European, and Russian servers for PC and consoles are run by different publishers (Gameforge for PC and Krafton for consoles) and will not be affected by the Japanese servers’ closure.
