The Triglavian Invasion Continues To Rage In EVE Online And The Real-World Costs Are Mounting

Wars tend to be very expensive, even virtual ones like the ongoing Triglavian Invasion in EVE Online. The final part of the war started back in July and is now on track to be one of the most expensive wars in the sci-fi MMORPG as the real-world ISK-based value of destroyed ships continues to go up.

Back in 2014, a major battle cost players a total of over $300,000 in destroyed ships while another one in 2018 saw over $1 million worth of ships destroyed, a battle that earned a spot in the Guiness Book of World Records with the “Most concurrent players simultaneously involved in a single multiplayer PvP videogame battle.” The current war isn’t breaking any records yet, but the latest stats from CCP Games sets the value of destroyed ships and structures at $112,000 a number that will steadily increase as the war rages on in every corner of the galaxy.
