The Weekly Raid: Do Fatigue Systems Hurt MMOs?

The other day, one of my comments unintentionally spiraled into a conversation about labor systems in MMOs: are they good? Are they bad? Where do we stand? And the discussion became a little heated; the coals had caught fire that Sunday Funday. So we're bringing it back in the appropriate timeslot: the MMOs.com Podcast.

Fatigue systems are everywhere, especially mobile games like Fire Emblem: Heroes—which calls it Stamina. Archeage and Black Desert Online both have Labor Points. And so does Revelation Online, dubbing it the Labor system.

Regardless of the name, they're all designed to do the same thing in principle: to limit how many activities you can perform in a given amount of time.

But is that an issue? I don't know. That's why I'm asking you.
