Throne and Liberty Devs Address Launch Woes in Latest Community Letter
Throne and Liberty, the highly anticipated free-to-play MMORPG from NCsoft and Amazon Games, is already facing some turbulence just weeks after its global launch earlier this month. In a recent letter to the community, the developers acknowledged the game’s growing pains and outlined their plans to address the most pressing issues.
“We immediately noticed that some players were being disconnected, encountering black screens, and getting stuck in login loops,” NCsoft explained. If you’ve experienced the infamous “Gate Server Disconnect” or your custom game settings resetting for no apparent reason, you’re not alone. These issues are apparently linked to server congestion—a problem that’s plagued MMORPG launches since the dawn of time. But hey, at least they’re working on it, right?
One standout issue, especially for players in Europe, is the “Cannot Create Character Error 10.” Turns out, this isn’t even a bug—it's just the game telling you the server is full. “We understand how it impacts your play session and are working to get it resolved as quickly as possible,” Amazon Games added, proving once again that overcrowded servers and MMOs go together like lag and frustration.
Disappearing friends lists and lost account-linking rewards have thrown more wrenches into the mix, but the devs are scaling up resources and promise to restore order soon. “Rest assured, no data has been lost—your character is still there, they’re just hiding in the wrong region,” the developers reassure players.
With Throne and Liberty peaking at over 326K players on Steam and console numbers still rolling in, the devs are certainly under pressure. But as they push to resolve these issues, only time will tell if the fixes hold up under the weight of its growing player base, although it looks like the launch rush is starting to die down.
