August 8 is going to be a big day for Tower of Fantasy as the anime MMORPG officially launches on PlayStation and marks its first anniversary with the release of its Version 3.1 update.

Dubbed Midsummer Merriment, the update will kick off anniversary celebrations with the arrival of the Jade Pavilion Fair in the recently opened Domain 9 zone. Players who participate in the Jade Pavilion Game Fest mini-events will be rewarded with tokens that can be exchanged for exclusive rewards, including couture skins, weapon skins, red nucleus, special vouchers, and more.

Version 3.1 will also introduce new story quests, new side missions, and yet another addition to the game’s growing roster of simulacrum characters named Ming Jing, a melee character who wields a massive sword in typical RPG fashion.

“Ming Jing [is a] mysterious individual who traversed spacetime and arrived at Domain 9. His weapon, Onyx Tortoise, not only activates both physical and flame resonance, but also possesses a powerful execution mechanism, able to convert the main slot weapon’s damage to area damage.”
