Hi-Rez Leaves Tribes: Ascend On The Curb With Final Patch

Hi-Rez studios has released the final patch (1.4) for Tribes: Ascend once again, aptly titled Parting Gifts: "Hi-Rez giveth, and Hi-Rez taketh away." It was almost a year ago—January, 2016—that the studio refocused attention on their cult-classic shooter, only to turn around and say "sayonara," at least as far as patches are concerned.

There are no plans to shut down Tribes: Ascend, just don't expect future updates. And the news isn't exactly a revelation once you take a peak at SteamCharts—not exactly a money-making playerbase.

Turns out there is another game out there similar to Tribes called Midair, that I learned about thanks to Eurogamer, and is currently in development. The project was successfully Kickstarted and looks promising.
