Ultima Online-esque MMORPG Linkrealms Shutting Down Tomorrow

Mythyn Interactive announced today that their Ultima Online like hardcore MMORPG Linkrealms will be shutting down "by the end of the month", which is tomorrow. Link Realms was a free to play retro sandbox MMORPG with a skill based progression system.

Here we are at the end. I suppose everyone had a sense that this announcement was coming: the Linkrealms servers will be shutting down at the end of the month.

Linkrealms was the result of endless hours of hard work and investment, creativity and dedication, but it never achieved any traction in the real world market. The game has been coasting down for a year and now there's nothing left to fund the servers - reality has caught up with us all.

Anyone following the development of Linkrealms shouldn't be surprised by this announcement. The game never had more than a few dozen people online. The game's developers have recommended players check out Ultima Online, Legends of Aria, and Fractured if they're looking for something similar.
