Will Smith Stars In Post-Apoc Mobile MMO Undawn's New Cinematic Trailer
Get ready to brave the post-apocalyptic world of Undawn, a brand-new survival RPG by Tencent’s Lightspeed Studios and Level Infinite that’s set to launch on June 15th. While multiplayer isn’t specifically mentioned in the press release, it’s reportedly an MMO that will offer a multiplayer PvE and PvP experience that will pit players against hordes of infected in a dark and gloomy world.
To survive, players will need to arm themselves with a wide range of weapons and tactical gear, including melee weapons, drones, and auto turrets. The game offers a diverse open world with various environments like plains, mines, deserts, swamps, and abandoned cities, each presenting unique challenges.
Weather conditions play a role as well, with survivors needing to endure rain, heat, snow, and storms while keeping a close eye on their character's health. It's a battle against overwhelming odds to protect home, allies, and the remnants of humanity.
In a surprise twist, Hollywood actor Will Smith stars as the character Trey Jones who guides players through their post-apocalyptic journey in the official cinematic trailer. Fans of zombie flicks will remember that the actor previously starred in the movie adaptation of I Am Legend, which basically features the same storyline.
Unfortunately for PC and console users, Tencent emphasizes that Undawn is designed as a “mobile-first” title with pre-registrations now live on Google Play Store and the App Store. The team touts over 2.25 million pre-registrations to date. How many of those will actually jump into the game when it launches remains to be seen.
