Valheim’s Long-Awaited Hildir’s Request Update Arrives With A New Vendor NPC

It’s been a long time coming but Valheim finally has access to new content as Iron Gate Studios deploys the Hildir’s Request update on the live servers. The update, which has been in development since January, adds a new NPC vendor named Hildir who’ll hand out various tasks that players can take on to unlock new housing items and clothing that can be purchased using gold.

Aside from a new quest-giver, the update also introduces new explorable areas, new crafting table extensions, more hairstyles and beard customization options, and new server modifiers that will allow players to further fine tune their experience and game difficulty.

Meanwhile, the studio has kicked off a speedrunning competition called Trial of Tyr that challenges Viking warriors to defeat every single boss in the survival sandbox in hard mode by themselves and without dying. Those who want to participate in the competition will have to follow a very specific set of instructions which can be found here. The event itself will run until September 5th.
