Riot Games’ ‘Project T’ Is Reportedly A Competitive MMOFPS Based On Valorant

It’s been three years since Riot Games first revealed that it was working on a League of Legends MMORPG. Unfortunately, it’s likely going to be a few months or even years before we hear anything about it again following the studio’s decision to “reset” the MMO’s direction earlier this year in an effort to set it apart from all the other MMOs out there.

Meanwhile, work continues on other in-development titles including an online PvP shooter called Project T. Rumors suggest that it’s an MMOFPS based on none other than Riot’s extremely popular free-to-play competitive shooter – Valorant.

Riot, however, remains tight-lipped about the project, but job listings on the studio’s official site hint at an online shooter with stylized art, competitive seasons, combat progression, a player-based economy, and player housing.

A Valorant MMOFPS also makes sense given Riot Game’s fondness for creating multi-genre spinoffs based on its popular IPs. I mean, why create a new IP when you already have one with millions of fans around the world? Hopefully, it doesn’t get “reset” several years into its development like what they just did with the long-awaited and long-delayed League of Legends MMO.

In case you missed it, Valorant recently opened its doors to a whole new market when it officially launched on consoles in selected regions over the weekend. You can read all about that here.
