Valve CEO Fires And Calls Dota 2 Presenter An Ass
Valve CEO Gabe Newell shook up the Dota 2 Shanghai Tournament when he controversially fired eSports commentator James “2GD” Harding and called him an ass to boot. Harding is a former professional Quake 4 player turned popular eSports personality who has a reputation for spouting offensive remarks on air for entertainment purposes.
Harding was promptly let go when he used the word “cunts” during his commentary along with a masturbatory joke that wasn’t received too well by the community. Players, however, demanded that he be brought back and given a second chance but Newell adamantly put his foot down and responded in a Reddit post, stating that:
“We’ve had issues with James at previous events. Some Valve people lobbied to bring him back for Shanghai, feeling that he deserved another chance. That was a mistake. James is an ass, and we won’t be working with him again.”
