South Korean indie developer Netker announced today that its online gladiatorial arena combat game has officially launched. The launch update brings with it two new maps, a Tournament map called "The Prison of Lament" and a "Team Tagmatch" map called "The Octagon," a new party and storage system, and a completely revamped UI. Netker plans to continue supporting the game post-release with new maps, modes, skills, weapons, craftable items, and more.

Versus: Battle of the Gladiator is available now on Steam for $14.99, temporarily discounted to $9.89 for the next two weeks.

Matt's Take:

I rather enjoyed Versus: Battle of the Gladiator when I played it on stream with Kat. The game offered a variety of weapons from the get-go, combat felt fluid, and it never felt like one playstyle was predominantly better than any other. At the time, it felt like it needed a much larger playerbase, as you can't even play most maps without at least four players, but it seemed promising. It's nice to see that it made it to release in a timely fashion and I definitely recommend giving it a shot.
