VR MMO Zenith Raised Over $280,000 In One Of The Most Successful VR Campaigns On Kickstarter

zenith cyberpunk concept art bannerLast month, Ramen VR launched a $25,000 Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming anime-themed PC and VR MMO, Zenith. The studio’s initial funding goal was reached within four hours of launching the crowdfunding campaign but pledges continued to pour in unlocking stretch goal after stretch goal including player housing, a new playable race, and the $250,000 level editor. The extremely successful campaign has just ended, raking in over $280,000 in pledges.

A quarter of a million dollars might seem like a lot but Ramen VR co-founder Andy Tsen says that Kickstarter isn’t their only source of funding. “Zenith is an incredible ambitious vision, and you are right, we will need a lot of capital to make it happen,” says Tsen. “The Kickstarter will allow us to make the game even better and more polished but it isn't all the money we have. [. . .] In fact we already have several other investors (including some of the most prestigious investors in Silicon Valley) and if fact we've raised more money through them than through the KS.”

With that much funding, expectations are really high for Ramen VR and their flagship game. Take a look at pre-alpha gameplay footage of spellcasting in the video below.
