War Thunder Introduces Dagor Engine 4.0 In Firestorm, Update 1.53

War Thunder Update 1.53, also known as Firestorm, is finally here. This means that the Dagor Engine 4.0 upgrades that Gaijin Entertainment have been showing off are finally in-game. The new PhysX-powered destruction and WaveWorks-powered water can now be experienced in-game by all players.

This update also includes the first run of British tanks. Those added are "the A13 Mk II, the Sherman Firefly, the M10 Achilles and the A43 Black Prince Infantry tank." Over 20 new vehicles, including the British tanks, are included, bringing the total vehicle count to over 600.

The name of the update comes from the addition of multiple rocket launcher additions. The "American M26 Pershing tank with mounted T99 system, the German Panzerwerfer 42, and Russian BM-24-8" all make an appearance in this update.

This update also includes two new maps. The Stalingrad tractor plant district was "reproduced based on real photographs." Then there is "Advance to Rhine," which is based on "late-war Cologne." The "towering cathedral and maze-like streets" are said to provide "optimum challenge for urban warfare."
