With a more comprehensive Renown system coming to World of Warcraft when Dragonflight launches this fall, Blizzard is making sure that its rewards will be well worth the grind. The studio recently tweaked the Renown system in the ongoing beta to make it more favorable for players overall and to make it easier to farm reputation points, in spite of the recent increase in the points needed to advance from one Renown rank to the next.

“As we have added different sources of reputation, it became harder to reward amounts that felt meaningful. As a result, we made a variety of changes to reputation rewards alongside increases to the reputation needed per renown rank from 1000 to 2500,” explained Blizzard.

The new sources mentioned include an increase in the frequency of world quests, level-up quest payouts, and reputation gains from Weekly Wrapper quests. For those currently testing the expansion, Blizzard notes that the Renown changes won’t be applied retroactively and that testers will need to create a new test character to check out the changes.
