World Of Warcraft Low-Pop Servers To Be Connected To Larger Ones Over The Next Few Months

world of warcraft party sync bannerBlizzard Entertainment has just announced their plans to connect low-population realms in World of Warcraft to existing realms with a larger population. The process will take place over the next few months during the scheduled maintenance period. Connected realms will be able to trade with each other, join guilds, and add each other to their friends list.

“World of Warcraft is best when you have a community of other players around you, and while numerous ways to participate in cross-realm play have been added to the game over the years, there are still many aspects of the experience that are realm-based,” says Blizzard. “From your history with your guild to your interactions with the economy around you, a realm with a healthy population provides more opportunities, and it’s been several years since we last connected some realms.”

Affected realms, regions, and languages will be posted in advance of the weekly maintenance. Realm discussion forums will also be merged appropriately. Details can be found on the World of Warcraft official site.
