XDefiant Concludes Its Open Beta Test And Eyes Summer 2023 Release Date

xdefiant multiplayer first-person shooter

XDefiant just concluded its three-day open beta test earlier this week, and with its launch window fast approaching, it’s high time that we compile everything we know about Ubisoft’s upcoming first-person PvP shooter.

XDefiant is a fast-paced first-person arena game featuring iconic characters and factions from Ubisoft’s extensive catalog of games, including Far Cry, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, The Division, and Watch Dogs. Each faction boasts distinct skills, passive traits, and powerful “ultra abilities” that make each of them unique.

There are currently five confirmed game modes: Escort, Zone Control, Domination, Occupy, and Hot Shot. Each mode will offer several maps to play on which are a mix of all-new and classic locations from various Ubisoft games.

During the pre-season phase, players will have access to four factions, 14 maps, five game modes, and a wide range of weapons and attachments. However, DedSec, the activist group from the Watch Dogs series, will need to be earned post-release.

The game is slated for release this summer and will feature regular seasonal content drops which will include new factions, weapons, maps, and game modes to keep gameplay fresh. Ubisoft plans to introduce new factions every three months along with new content, cosmetics, battle passes, and events.

Feedback has been largely positive during this week’s open beta as with previous beta tests, so this one might be worth keeping an eye out for.
