Zenith developer Ramen VR has hired two new veteran developer to join the studio: Giancarlo Surla and Dave Maldonado. The latter might be familiar to veteran MMO players as a top game designer in World of Warcraft, a developer on Amazon’s now-canceled Lord of the Rings MMO, and creative director for New World. Maldonado will take on the mantle of Design Director while Surla will assume the role of Art Director.

Meanwhile, Ramen VR CEO Andy Tsen touts that 2023 will be the studio’s biggest year yet with Zenith set to launch on the PSVR2 later this month and other major content drops planned for release throughout the year, including player housing which will be available for testing starting Friday next week.

“Today I’m excited to announce that Major Update 1.3 will be entering a limited Pre-Alpha test next week from Friday 2/10 – 2/13,” said Tsen. “We’ll only be able to allow a few users initially as we prove out the technology. Keep an eye on our socials for chances to access. In that build, you will of course get to play with announced features like Cyber Ninja and Player Housing — but there will also be extremely exciting and completely unannounced features.”

Those unannounced features, however, along with everything included in the upcoming playtest, will be covered by an NDA.
