Dungeon Fighter Online - Sunday Funday Round 60

Dungeon Fighter Online Sunday Funday Gameplay Video

This week the MMOs.com crew took a lot at Dungeon Fighter Online, a 2D side-scrolling fantasy MMORPG developed and published by Neople (a subsidiary of Nexon). Despite its turbulant history in the West (Nexon originally published it, shut it down, and years later Neople launched it globally), DFO is tremendously popular in China and South Korea. In fact, it's the highest grossing MMORPG in the world, surpassing revenues from MMO juggernauts like World of Warcraft. The game originally launched in 2005 and was inspired by classic arcade beat'em ups like Double Dragon and Golden Axe. The core gameplay is similar to titles like Vindictus and HeroWarz, as the game features persistent hubs with instanced linear dungeons. Dungeon Fighter Online is one of the first MMOs to feature this style of play which has since been copied countless times. Everyone in the video enjoyed the game, but we spent a lot of time talking about the definition of an MMO.
