ZeniMax Online ran into major issues with testing Elder Scrolls Online’s upcoming Gold Road chapter earlier this month when the North American servers inadvertently ended up sharing data with the public test server. That meant that everything that testers did on the PTS ended up reflecting on the live servers, including earning gold and even deleting characters.

Once the issue became clear, the team promptly took the NA server offline and was forced to lock and roll back all progress on affected accounts by about half a day. The mirroring problem has since been fixed and testing has resumed on the PTS.

ZeniMax has also begun giving out compensation packages to all affected players since last weekend, starting with those on consoles. PlayStation and Xbox users should have already received their extremely generous goodie bags, while those on PC will get theirs on May 6. The compensation bundle includes 5 Gift Boxes, , 25 Confetti Packs, a handful of Style Pages, and a whopping 16,000 Seals of Endeavor, enough to buy a new Radiant Apex mount.

Affected players with active subscriptions during the outage will also get a free month of subscription time and 1650 Crowns on the same day.

Meanwhile, ZeniMax is running a Mountain Dew promotion event with XP scrolls, a Karthwolf Charger mount, and other rewards up for grabs. All you have to do is buy specially marked bottles of Mountain Dew and use the unique code to claim your rewards.

Tickets are also now on sale for the next leg of Elder Scrolls Online’s 10th anniversary road event which will be held in Thuringia, Germany on July 13-14.
