Conquer Online Literally Lets You Pay to Get Unbanned

I feel like people often throw the term 'Pay 2 Win' around a bit too loosely. While practically every game with micro-transactions has some degree of pay 2 win, Conquer Online, a Chinese developed MMORPG, is the only game I know of that literally lets you pay money to get unbanned. Yes, I know this isn't exactly new, as they've been doing this for over a decade, but I imagine most people don't know about Conquer Online, so I figured I'd highlight it here for fun.

Anyone caught using illegal programs or violating the game's rules will be put into "BotJail", a holding area in the game for players who violated the game's rules.

TQ (the game's developer and publisher) is committed to maintaining a fair game environment in Conquer Online. For those who have been caught using illegal programs or other rule violations, you may be put into the Botjail. You will be able to be released from Botjail by paying the CP fine, as set by the Warden. For each time you are sent to Botjail, the fine will increase. You should pay 2000 CPs ($28) for the first time, 5000 CPs ($70) for the second time, 10000 CPs ($140) for the third time and be never got out of the Botjail for the fourth time.

I find it amusing that they have the audacity to claim they're "committed to maintaining a fair game environment" when they let players pay money to get unbanned for cheating. I find this next paragraph on the game's Bot Jail website even funnier:

Do NOT come to ask for help when it's too late, there will be no second chance! We caution all of you to stay away from these bot/cheat programs, and to play the game fairly!

I like how they can claim 'there will be no second chance', when they're literally selling second and third chances. I guess what they meant to say is 'there will be no second chance if you can't afford to pay us.' This last bit takes the cake though:

We will continue to strive to make Conquer a safe and cheat-free environment! Let's all work together to make this place great!

Literally no one believes they care about making the game a cheat-free environment when they're monetizing cheats. Why do they even bother saying this on the same page that monetizes cheating?

The remarkable thing about Conquer Online is that the game is actually pretty popular. It's not exactly a household name in the U.S., but the game is incredibly popular in China and the Middle East.

I wonder if any other games monetize cheating the way Conquer Online does. If you know of any other game that unbans players for money, let me know in the comments below.
