Arcfall Launches On Steam Early Access

Following a short delay, Neojac Entertainment's new sandbox MMORPG Arcfall has launched on Steam Early Access. Arcfall allows players to explore an open world, fight monsters, craft gear, own houses, furnish said houses, and more.

While the store page makes it difficult to discern where exactly the game is at in terms of development, simply listing whether major features are implemented or not, an early Steam review states that "the starting zone is the only place with some meat on the bones." It seems that, while the features have been implemented, the game is currently fairly light on content. Other reviews are noting that there are a large number of bugs, with some users calling the game "totally unplayable."

Developer Neojac Entertainment is also responsible for creating the Atavism MMO Creator, which is an MMO engine that is integrated with Unity, and the long-awaited sandbox MMORPG Neo's Land. Before all of that, however, the company worked on a free-to-play MMORPG called Islands of War, which was made in the now open source Multiverse engine, that never made it out of Beta before it was shut down.

It remains to be seen how Arcfall will turn out, but Neojac has worked on several projects in the past, none of which have reached a launch state except for its Unity-based MMO engine. I'd advise waiting to see how it will turn out before purchasing it.

Arcfall is now available on Steam Early Access for $19.99, temporarily discounted to $13.99 for the week of release.
