A new duping exploit in ARK: Survival Ascended has forced Studio Wildcard to roll the servers back by eight hours yesterday to partially repair the damage caused by the exploit on the official server economies.

“With the deployment happening now, we are conducting a service-wide rollback on our official network of approximately eight hours to reduce the damage caused by an exploit,” the team reported. “We will be taking enforcement action against tribes that have benefitted from the exploit.”

The exploit in question allowed players to obtain a massive amount of resources in a short period of time by placing and reclaiming turrets. Naturally, players aren’t happy with the rollback, some of whom reported losing a days’ worth of work and progress. They’re also calling attention to the team’s apparent lack of response to the widespread duping exploits and hacks that have been plaguing both the official and private servers since the game’s launch. There have also been calls to permanently remove cross-play between PC due to hacking concerns.

It also doesn’t look like Studio Wildcard will be giving out any compensation for the rollback.
