BattleSouls Is A Free-To-Play Arena Brawler That Lets You Change Class Mid-Battle

Pixeleap's BattleSouls is a bit of an odd concept. At first glance, I thought it looked a lot like Overpower, but there's a twist. In BattleSouls, there are five classes—more are planned. At the beginning of a match, you pick three to take into battle with you. You can then switch between each of the three chosen classes freely during a match. Pixeleap CEO Peter Kjaer was quoted saying "Balancing close-quarters and ranged attacks is absolutely crucial to success in BattleSouls," which sounds quite a bit daunting considering you will have to manage playing as three different classes in a single match.

BattleSouls will be free-to-play when it launches on Steam on May 12th. The manner in which it will be monetized has yet to be announced.
