BioWare Reveals Details Of Upcoming Anthem Cataclysm Event

Speed-runners, ready, set, go! BioWare has just revealed the details of the upcoming Anthem Cataclysm event. Cataclysm is a limited-time event that will have freelancers exploring a special new map, solving puzzles, completing objectives, and ultimately taking down the final boss Vara before the timer expires for a chance at acquiring new powers, weapons, Masterwork and Legendary gear, and other rewards.

"The Cataclysm takes place in a new area of the map. The objective is to get to the boss, Vara, and kill her before time is up. You earn a score along the way. There will be ‘arenas’ where you can complete objectives and increase your score and extend your timer. Not every arena will be available from the start. While you're in this area, a storm is raging and you need to create 'safe zones' to protect yourself from it. There will be secrets and mysteries to solve in the new area."

Three new main missions will also be added with new cinematics continuing where the main storyline left off. Players will be able to earn currency by participating in the event which they can use to purchase rotating warchests containing a variety of gear.

The limited-time-event will run for eight weeks with the first two weeks dedicated to pre-events. During the pre-event players can test out the event map for cosmetics instead of the regular rewards.
