Bless Korean Servers Merged Down To One

In an another set back for the Unreal Engine 3 based fantasy MMORPG by Neowiz Games, the Korean version of Bless Online has announced its 4th round of server mergers. At least this will be the very last. The two current servers: 'Gaius' and 'Lumen' will be combined to form 'Elpis' on June 14th, 2017.

This latest merger follows a previous one in January 2017 and two in 2016. There's still no word on a Western release beyond Aeria Games stating that they are still working with Neowiz on an overhaul of the combat system. As announced last month, the Russian service for Bless is going offline tomorrow.

But its not all bad news. The Japanese Closed Beta started on April 28 and introduced a few changes including a revamped skill system (no more skill books), and the addition of an auto-pathing feature.

While it may seem the beguiled MMORPG should have been named 'Curse' rather than Bless, most of the problems are of Neowiz's own doing. The game was very poorly optimized and suffered from constant frame drops, memory leaks, and computer crashes. The poor optimization is especially startling considering Bless is one of the most expensive MMORPGs ever developed, with a budget of $61 million and counting.

Despite its flaws and set backs, we had a lot of fun with Bless when we played it on the Russian server. Its still officially coming to the West with revamped combat and better optimization so hold the faith and may the MMORPG Gods Bless you!
