Up until earlier this month, it looked like Bandai Namco had left Blue Protocol for dead until the studio announced its plans for a massive network test in Japan this January. The playtest will run from January 14th to January 16th with 50,000 players invited to participate. The game itself is expected to launch in the country in early spring 2023 as announced in the studio’s latest developer stream.

As to whether the game will be making its way to the west, that’s still up in the air. Bandai Namco, however, also teased a big announcement at this year’s The Game Awards which might just be the global launch announcement that we’ve all been waiting for since it will apparently be aimed at overseas fans.

You can check out the full dev stream below which also offers a sneak peek at the upcoming MMORPG’s classes along with several new trailers and the official PC system requirements for the game.
