Bandai Namco’s highly anticipated MMORPG, Blue Protocol, officially launched in Japan yesterday. However, as is often the case with game launches of this magnitude, the release encountered various technical issues, turning the event into a turbulent experience for players.

The problems began early on when the team discovered a last-minute issue, prompting a delay in the opening of the game servers. Following the delayed launch, players encountered difficulties with the Bandai-Namco ID feature, which handles logins for the game, which prompted the developers to take the game offline again for hours while they worked to resolve the login problems.

Unfortunately, Bandai Namco’s problems didn’t end there. The developers later encountered a separate problem related to the game’s cash shop that caused issues with certain payment methods. This issue prompted yet another lengthy emergency maintenance session.

Meanwhile, western players are still eagerly awaiting Amazon’s version of the game which had recently been delayed to 2024. Hopefully, it won’t be as rocky as the Japanese launch.
