CD Projekt Red has just announced that they’re working on a brand new game in The Witcher franchise. There’s really not much to go on except that the game is in development, but what we do know is that the game is being built on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5 instead of the in-house REDengine.

The Polish developer announced a massive multi-year partnership with Epic Games that includes licensing, technical development, and access to future versions of Unreal Engine. The team says that they’ll be collaborating closely with Epic to tailor-fit the engine for the creation of new open-world experiences.

CD Projekt Red said that they will be using Unreal Engine to develop their games going forward, except the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion which will still be using REDengine.

Details can be found on the CD Projekt Red official site.
